About Psychosynthesis Counselling

A holistic approach to counselling that supports self-awareness, resilience, meaning, and choice.

I am an accredited psychosynthesis counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My practice is grounded in professional ethical standards and a commitment to providing a safe, confidential, and respectful environment in which clients can explore the challenges and opportunities that life presents.

Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to counselling that recognises the complexity of human experience. Developed by psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli, it combines psychological understanding with an appreciation of personal growth, meaning, values, creativity, and purpose. Rather than focusing solely on problems or symptoms, psychosynthesis seeks to understand the whole person and to support the development of greater self-awareness, resilience, and choice.

People come to counselling for many reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, or a sense of feeling stuck. You may also be seeking greater clarity, direction, confidence, or a deeper understanding of yourself. Counselling offers a dedicated space to reflect on these experiences and explore new ways of responding to them.

My training in psychosynthesis has equipped me to work with both present-day challenges and the deeper patterns that can influence how we think, feel, and relate to others. Together, we can explore the different aspects of yourself that may be in tension or conflict, helping you to understand them with curiosity and compassion rather than judgement. This process often enables clients to make more conscious choices and develop a stronger sense of agency in their lives.

Alongside my counselling qualifications, I am also a trained spiritual director and bring many years of experience in pastoral care. These roles have given me extensive experience of supporting people through times of change, loss, uncertainty, and personal reflection. They have also deepened my capacity for attentive listening and for accompanying individuals as they explore what matters most to them.

While psychosynthesis acknowledges that many people seek meaning and purpose in their lives, my practice is inclusive and welcoming to people of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds, including those with no religious affiliation. I do not promote any particular spiritual or religious perspective. Instead, I work with each client's own values, experiences, and understanding of what gives their life meaning.

The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I aim to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and be met with respect and understanding. I believe that lasting change often begins when people feel genuinely heard and accepted.

Counselling is not about fixing what is wrong with you. It is an opportunity to understand yourself more fully, recognise your strengths and resources, and find new ways of engaging with life's challenges. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult period or looking to deepen your understanding of yourself, psychosynthesis counselling can help you move towards a greater sense of authenticity, balance, and wellbeing.

I hold professional counselling qualifications in psychosynthesis and maintain my accreditation through ongoing professional development, supervision, and adherence to the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring that my practice remains safe, ethical, and responsive to the needs of my clients.
